Domingo Rocché will be joining us from Guatemala as our Special Guest Artist. Domingo paints in a brilliant blazing array of color, subject matter indigenous, sensitivnsitive and alive of his beautiful home land.

Domingo Rocché is a Tzutuhil Maya from San Pedro la Laguna, Guatemala, a small village on the shore of Lake Atitlan where he livves with his family. Born in 1975, his native language is Tzutuhil Maya. Domingo began to paint at the age of 13 on cotton sugaes with his family. Born in 1975, his native language is Tzutuhil Maya. Domingo began to paint at the age of 13 on cotton sugar bags that his mother gave him. In 1995, working at odd jobs to support himself in Guatemala City, he won his first award for painting and was given a four year scholarship to the School of the Arts. Over the past 9 years, he has received much recognition in his country as well as in Costa Rica and Switzerland for his colorful representations of village life. In 2002, he made his first visit to Taos, New Mexico, to paint and exhibit his work which was purchased by numerous private collectors.
